How to Live Stream Scheduled Events at the Cathedral

NOTE:  Our streaming technology is good but not perfect.  If the broadcast is interrupted or lost, it could be our problem or perhaps a problem on your end (due to WIFI competition in the household).  If it is our problem, we'll know it and work to resume the broadcast within 2-3 minutes. In that case, simply follow the directions below to activate your preferred choice of streaming.  You may need to do that for a few minutes until the stream is restored. We have found that option 1 below is our most reliable option that we can almost always restore if we have issues. We hope none of this is required. But if it is, we thank you in advance for your patience.

We have three ways to participate in live-streamed masses and other Cathedral related events:

1. CLICK HERE to head to our live-stream portal page where you can have a watch-only, no-frills experience on our parish web site streaming page.

2. YouTube Live - If you use YouTube on a regular basis and are comfortable in that environment, then subscribe to the Cathedral's YouTube channel so you can get notifications whenever we go live or post new videos to the channel.  Subscribe now by clicking on this Subscribe button and then bookmark the channel for future use.

3. Facebook Live - If you use Facebook on a regular basis and are comfortable in that environment, then check out our streaming instructions below for that platform. Almost all of our events are streamed on the Cathedral's Facebook (LIVE) page and some are also broadcast on our School's Facebook (LIVE) page.

You want to head to the Cathedral's Facebook Live Page.  Once you arrive there, if we are live-streaming at the time, then the first video you see on the page (you may have to scroll down just a bit) will have the "Live" designation as described in the figure just below.  You simply click on the video icon to view the live-stream.

If you don't see "Live" on the first video, then it's likely you've arrived before the streaming has started.  Simply refresh your browser screen every so often until the stream begins.

Go to the Videos section of the Cathedral's Facebook App. and scroll down if needed to find the "All Videos" section.  Look for the first one to have "Live" on the icon - indicating it is the streamed event and click on that video. 

If you don't see "Live" on the first video, then it's likely you've arrived before the streaming has started.  Simply refresh the page by pulling down all the way until you see "Live" in that first video indicating the stream has started.  Then click into that icon and you will see the stream. See the next figures for a visual explanation.

In this case, CLICK/TAP HERE to go to the Cathedral's Facebook Live page.  If the stream has started, the first video you see will have "Live" at the upper left corner of that video icon. If you don't see "Live" on that first video, it means the stream has not yet started.  In this case, refresh the page every few moments until you see the "Live" designation.  Then click on the video image to watch the broadcast.
