Follow these procedures during scheduled Confession times
Currently, we will have two regular times that one or more priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 PM
Saturdays from 8:45 to 9:45 AM
We need to follow safety protocols as we are still in the throes of the pandemic. Please abide by the following procedures:
The two Confessional locations will be in the Cry Room and in Hehman Hall.
Enter through Hehman Hall....wear a mask at all times, be socially distant, have hand sanitizer and make sure that you are feeling healthy as you enter.
If you open a door to enter Hehman Hall, promptly sanitize your hands.
The “waiting area” will be in Hehman Hall close to the church entrance and the area of church on the cry room side.
If you sit in a pew or chair, please sanitize it when you get up. It will be most safe to stand all the time while you are in church except for when you go to confession.
Please maintain social distancing from others who are not in your household.
The door to use for the cry room is the one closest to Hehman Hall; the door to use for Hehman Hall is the door closest to church . Enter and exit the confessional spaces through these doors. In each location, there will be three chairs. You can choose a chair to face the priest, six feet away, at a safe distance, or you can choose the chair whose back is to his back (if you sit there, please DO NOT turn the chair so that you are speaking into the back of the priest’s head.) Confession proceeds as usual.
Upon concluding your confession, sanitize your chair with the materials and cloths adjacent to your chair, keep your sanitizing cloth and sanitize the door knob/latch and any part of the door to Hehman Hall/ the cry room you have touched as you depart......doing your part to keep the next person safe......
If you spend some time in church following confession, please sanitize your chair or the top of the pew you have been in. These are unusual and dangerous times.....we are glad to once again offer scheduled confessions, even with this modified schedule.....we will make adaptations to our schedule as the situation evolves.....
The scheduled times will be adhered to strictly so that the church can be open and sanitized for the next services. Fr. Damian and I will still be available for confessions by appointment.
We are thankful for your cooperation and thankful for the grace and mercy offered by Christ and the Church through this great sacrament.
