Participate in our September 26th (7 PM) House Meeting!
Micah 6:8 states that the Lord gives us three requirements, “to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God … in faithfulness.”
Here at Christ the King, we love mercy through many of our social outreach ministries as we help individuals struggling with immediate needs they can’t afford or don’t have access to.
We practice faithfulness by worshiping together at mass, through retreats and in many other ways throughout the year.
That’s two out of three requirements that God asks of all of us. But what about doing justice?
If we are honest, we don’t do justice very well here at Christ the King. BUILD is the only ministry we have that seeks to hold community systems and leaders accountable to solve problems that affect thousands of people across our community.
BUILD was formed in 2003 to bring congregations together so that they would have enough power to do justice in the community of Lexington.
BUILD'S approach to advocating for tangible, practical, and affordable solutions to serious problems our city faces works!
It begins with our September 26th parish house meeting as we come together and listen to one another about what keeps us awake at night and what we have seen and experienced in our own city that we know can be better.
Come this one night and find out how you can be a part of the yearly BUILD cycle (with minimal time investment) that works to make our city a safer and more just place to live and raise our families.
Help BUILD identify the next issue that will be taken up this year and then you can make an informed decision about whether you want to be a part of making a real difference in our city.
